I'm surprised an alternative format hasn't taken the place of CDs. How old is the format? I mean, there's digital download for movies too but that has received an upgrade.

Well, it's about time. The real douche is here seems to apple TBH.

The only reason they aren't gonna try and cooperate with the other industry giants is because they want to have their own proprietary software so no one else can compete, which while is a pretty good business strategy, also fucks over the entire music consumer base by causing them to choose between formats.

They're really all acting like a bunch of children waving their proverbial dicks around to see who's format is better when they could just be collaborating to make a singular unified format to benefit the entire consumer base

That wouldn't let them demand you use a certain program to use their hardware.

Well whenever I had the choice to convert music files, I use to always pick mp3, and later, and now I am hearing that something else is a little better.

and Larry. Say that an mp3 is an average of 3mb, how big would that same some be using FLAC.

It's amazing how a band like Metallica that was supposed to be all about rock n roll and rebellion lead the charge for the record companies.
